 Gary Harris Images offers educational opportunities for photo enthusiasts interested in learning how to better use their cameras. Workshops are for anyone with a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera with interchangeable lenses. (No phone, tablet or point-n-shoot cameras)

Whether you are a beginner or advanced photographer, these 1/2 day workshops are designed for participants to have an incredible photography experience filled with beautiful memories, being more confident in your photography skills and taking home some stunning images!

Instructors Gary Harris and Doug Jefford will be there to help you every step of the way. You will learn at your own pace in a relaxed and fun atmosphere along some of Iowa's most beautiful Riverfronts.

Workshops will cover How to Use Camera in Manual Mode, Camera Settings, Creative & Artistic Composition, Using Filters, Long Exposures, Focus Stacking, Bracketing and more.

1 on 1 Photography Instruction

If you prefer a more hands-on instruction, shooting side-by-side with me so you can ask questions in the moment, then a 1 on 1 lesson might be more what you're looking for. Together, we'll choose a location based on what you want to learn and what you'd like to photograph.

1 on 1 Editing Lessons

Lightroom Classic

There is nothing better than creating a beautiful image, then being able to take that image to the next level by having an optimal post-processing workflow.

Although, there are many editing software options available in this digital world we live in, I personally feel that Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop are the best out there.

Learning Lightroom can be frustrating and take endless hours of learning. I will personally show you a proper workflow, how to use the many sliders and tools that are available, and how to make the proper adjustments so your images POP!

Classes can last as long as you need, but I would recommend starting off with a 2 or 3 hour session. It depends on how long it takes you to pick it up. I will stop at anytime and answer any questions you have. I am happy to schedule follow up sessions you want more time.

Photoshop

Now this is another monster.  

Not many people use Photoshop in there post-processing workflow, because Photoshop can be very scary and learning can be very difficult. However, I have years of experience using Photoshop as a Professional Architectural Photographer. Photoshop can truly make a huge difference in taking your images to the next level.

After learning Lightroom efficiently, I can teach you some advanced techniques that will blow your mind. The things you can do with layers and layer masks are truly amazing. You can use layers and layer masks to hand blend your images. This is where Focus Stacking and Bracketing come into play. You just have to see it to believe it. You don't always need Photoshop to edit your images and Lightroom will do the job just fine, but Photoshop can do the things Lightroom cannot.

I would start out with a 3 hour session. Practice and learn those skills and then schedule more time as you feel more comfortable.
